Miss Fdna Mabel Cree,
c/o Miss Vivian Drenckhehn,
461 West Van Buren Street,
Battle Creek, Michigan
My dear Miss Cree:
lie regret very much hating to tell you that we cannot have our
hospital ready ror service until July. therefore, we do not expect
that our nursing staff will sail until sometime in June. It is
possible, however, that Dr. Gordon will wish to start work on his
Public Health Program sooner than that and we are awaiting a reply
to a cable to that effect. If he does not, would you care to have
us try to place you temporerily, or would you prefer to take care
of it yourself?
We realize how very disturbing this uncertainty must be to our
nursing staff, but under existing conditions, it is to be expected.
cincerely yours,
Gertrude Madley)
Chier Nurse,
American Red Cross-
Harvard Hospital Unit.
