January 17, 1941 Miss Edna Mabel Cree, Henry Street Visiting Nurse Service, 341 East 25th Street, New York, N. Y. My dear Miss Cree: We have received the report of your rinal physical examination and it is now time for you to obtain your passport and have your uniforms orderdd and made. The firm of Smith-Gray is making the street uniforms and as you live in New York City they would like to measure you themselves. They have been advised of your appointment to the Unit, so will you please contact them for an appointment. Will you let us have by return mail your indoor uniform and hat sise? sign and return to us promptly all receipts that accompany each package of uniforms. Inclosed you will find rules and regulations for obtaining pass- ports. You will note from these regulations that you should present yourself before a clerk of your local U. S. District Court, unless an Agent of the Department of State is located near you. You should take with you the enhlosed letter of appointment, two photographs, and in addition, evidence of your American citizenship, and apply for a passporte The fee of $10.00 will be reimbursed. We are writing to the State Department, supporting your application and requesting that the passport be sent to us so that we may obtain a British visa for you here in Washington, after which we will return the passport to you. Salaries will be paid the rirst of the month automatically in America to someone assigned by you, or deposited to your credit in your bank. These will be less deductions on a drawing account for pessonal expenses in England. Do not take cameras.
