AMERICAN RED CROSS
(CROIX-ROUGE AMÉRICAINE)
3 -
I am impressed by the large number of Red Cross workers
in Paris; they explain it by saying that many of them are passing
through Paris. However both Red Cross workers and Y.M.C.A.
workers, men and women are greatly in evidence and the whole
atmosphere of Paris somewhat pathetic. I can just imagine how they
hate all the confusion and bustle and long for the withdrawal of
the last American. Many of the nurses who are in Paris on leave
are going out to Chateau Thierry and I believe that the Red Cross
is arranging for excursions. I presume that by the time I am
ready to go, they will be charging admission.

I have had a ^number of visits with Miss Eakins. I really
thinkshe has done a very good piece of work at the American Ambu-
lance. She has never been able to extract the control of the
Aids from Mrs. Munroe, but I do not believe anyone else could have
done better.
I hope this letter reaches you soon after Miss Hall's to
assure you I am doing perfectly well and that I hope soon to
leave Paris.
Yours sincerely,
June a glans.
Jane A: Delano.
