Dear Sir:
My niece, Mary M. Dodds, a supervisor of the American
Red Cross in London, England, writes me that inasmuch as she
has been in overseas duty for the past eighteen months, she
has been unable to secure information regarding her status as
a taxpayer under the Internal Revenue Code.
With this in mind I went to the office of the Local
Collector of Internal Revenue at the Custom House, New York,
endeavoring to obtain information regarding her status but was
advised that this information could better be secured from you.
I would, therefore, appreciate it if you would let me
know her status as a taxpayer under the law of Great Britain and
or the United States. In the event that you are unable to
furnish this information, would you please direct me to some
one who can.
Your kind consideration of this request will enable me
to attend to any necessary reports that must be filed.
