E ward E NOT TO BE ROUTED NOT TO BE ROUTED NOT TO BE ROUTED s NOT TO BE ROUTED a + March 12, 1976 5 Mr. Howard L. Kolbo Lierarian Katherine Edwards School 6812 South Norwalk Boulevard Whittier, California 90601 Dear Mr. Kolbo: Thank you for sending the biographical information on Miss Edwards. It proved to be most interesting. We have researched through our archives for records of her service at both the Mexican border and with Base Hospital Unit No. 10. I have enclosed copies of selected material which may be helpful to you in reassembling the memorabilia. There are several specific points I would like to make. 1. Katherine or Catherine Edwards name was not on our list of nurses sent to Mexico in 1916. 2. Note that on the Muster-In Roll (in her hand writing) and the Pennsylvania Base Hospital Unit No. 10 her name is spelled with a "C" rather than "k". 3. The copy of the History of the Nursing Corp of Base Hospital #10, U.S.A. does have pages missing - this is the only copy in our archives. 4. The American Red Cross acted only as the recruiting agency for Army Base Hospitals. We are ordering a Red Cross Nurses Badge with her number 5048 engraved on the back. This will be forwarded to you when it arrives (approximmately six weeks). Again, I hope that some or all of the information will be helpful to you. E Sincerely, E Mary Anna Moore Assistant Director Program Operations Nursing and Healh Programs Attachments GENER General GENERAL Records REGORDS COPY GENERAL RECORDS COPY .
