Name suggested as possible nursing field representative for California.
Mrs. Baker's comments, January 14, 1930.
U Miss Winifred Erskine - has only had two years in high school and no
training or experience in teaching.
The Red Cross experience of this nurse is also very limited.
In California where standards are unusually high, especially for workers in
schools, it seems questionable as to whether Miss Erskine or Miss McCarthy
could meet California requirements. I believe for California it is impera-
tive that we consider a nurse with a good educational background, who can
advise the local nurses who are themselves well educated, and meeting all
California requirements. I think it would be better, especially from the
recent experience with Mrs. Cannon, to leave the place vacant until the right
person is located."
