My dear Miss Longwill:
On November 19th, 1930, we approved
you for enrollment in the Red Cross Nursing Service and
sent you an appointment letter, together with the Red.
Cross credentials consisting of a badge and appointment
card which were mailed under separate cover. These were
addressed to the Fabiola Hospital, Oakland, Calif., which
on
was given as your present address in October 1930.
The appointment card and Red Cross badge
E
have been returned to us unclaimed. The appointment
letter has not as yet been returned. Will you not im-
mediately, upon the receipt of this letter, reply to it
giving us your present and safe address to which we may
mail your Red Cross credentials.
We would like to take this opportunity
to call to your attention that these credentials are always
the property of the American Red Cross and are very valuable,
for the reason that the use of the Red. Cross insignia or
emblem is protected by law. Therefore, if these credentials
are lost in the mail, and are claimed by someone who has no
right to them, they are apt to be used to exploit the
American Red Cross.
We will hold this matter pending until
we hear from you, and trust you will cooperate with us by
replying immediately to this letter.
Very truly yours,
Clara D. Noyes,
Chairman, National Commit ttee,
IFB/AWH
Red Cross Nursing Service.
