Dear Verda:
Miss Beard is not in her office as she ex-
pects to leave on her "mission" any day now,
but I read your letter of May 9 to her over the
telephone and she requested that I. tell you the
following.
She is going alone and until she returns
no further definite plans can be made. The sit-
uation looks the same and she feels as she did
when she talked with you in New York. She can-
not be specific as to dates or places until her
return.
