    "ocrText": "AREA OFFICE AND\n5\nCOMMITTEE ADVISED\n&\nMAR 3 1943\nDay\nM\nSeptember 21, 1942\nAIRVAIL - SPECIAL DELIVERY\nMiss Mollie Kathleen Kirchgassner\n1046 Ferry Street\nEaston, Pennsylvania\nK\nMy dear Miss Kirchgassner:\nYour physical has been approved by our Red Cross medical advisor\nand we are now in a position to offer you the appointment of staff nurse\nwith the civilian emergency hospital being set up on the Island of Kauai\nunder the jurisdiction of the D.C.D.in the Territory of Hawaii. This\nposition carries the salary of $110 a month, including room, two meals\na day and laundering of uniforms. Your walary will start from the date\nyou take the oath of office in San Francisco as will also the terms of\nemployment with the O.C.D. in accordance with the notification which we\nare enclosing.\nIn order to complete final arrangements for your departure, you will\nfind detailed instructions about travel on the enclosed supplementary in-\nformation sheet. Please follow all instructions carefully.\nWe are enclosing a check for $200 to cover your expenses for travel\nand maintenance. Please note the enclosed instructions concerning funds\nfor traveling expenses.\nAs we have made some changes in the general arrangements, we wish to\ncall your attention to the new general information sheet which is also en-\nclosed and which will supersede all, previous information.\nTherefore, enclosed you will find the following:\n1.
