Min Presing CHRISTIAN COUNTY CHAPTER AMERICAN RED CROSS A.E. C. MAIL ROOM EAST SEVENTH STREET RECEIVED HOPKINSVILLE, KENTUCKY April 28,1938 MAY PAU 2 2 Referred To Ps Miss I. Malinde Havey National Director Public health Nursing and Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick American National Red Cross Washington, D. C. My dear Miss Havey: I am in receipt of your letter of April twenty-second. My plans have been changed since I applied for the course for teacher S in Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick which is to be given at Peabody College this summer. Since I will not return to Hopkinsville and continue in Red Cross work here I decided perhaps it would be better for me to persue another course of study. And too in looking back over my credit slip from Peabody I recalled having had a similar course in Home Hygiene and Practice Teaching while studying public health in 1928. I saw Miss Potts for a brief conference just prior to receiving your letter and talked with her regarding the change. She advised me to do so since I do not know definitely what I will be doing after I leave Peabody, and may not have an opportunity to teach regular Home Hygiene classes. I intended to write you of my change of plans. However, Miss Potts already knows about it and has noted the change on my file. In regard to my work with Red Cross I would like to state that I have enjoyed it and my contacts with Head- quarters have been most satisfactory. I trust that my leaving this chapter will not entirely server my con- nections with Red Cross. I Very sincerely yours, D. Ruth Laxton Ruth Paxton Public Health Nurse
