Miss Madley:

July 8, 1941
Miss Beard Has suggested I take the vacation time I have coming,
so will plan to do that the last of July or first of August. I'll have
about ten days. I hope to persuage my family to go to some cool place
with me, otherwise, I may go home.
Miss Haward called me the other day and said she wanted to sing
a song, which she did - "You take the high ways, and I'll take the by
ways, and I'll be in England before ye". She was indeed very happy.
I'm anxiously waiting to be with you. Love and best wishes to
all.
