33 an al tb, + : PACIFIC BRANCH Fre Miss Dorothy Ledyard, Assistant Director, December 28, 1925 Nursing Serfice Mrs. Isabelle W. Baker. Frances Maltby, 7471 7 My dear Miss Ledyard: Miss Noyes has asked me to answer your letter of the 19th to her regarding Miss Maltby since she has inquired regarding a position a.s Home Hygiene instructor. Miss Noyes asks me to tell you she considers Miss Malt- best speakers - being formerly in Red Cross chautauque work, by to be an exceptional woman; educated, wds and of Miss their she is well one Noyes thinks very highly of her. Miss Maltby really prepared the text for the little book "When Mother Does the Nursing" or "Home Care of the Sick" which belonge to the National Healtt Series. She has had good preparation for teach- ing end even though she is somewhat temperamentel, we do not believe it would interfere with her teaching. She is enalytical, studies situations, understands people and is intensely practical. She is particularly in- terested in work with people in rural communities and is the type of person to make herself one of them. I believe she could also hold classes of young girls. Both Miss Noyes and I feel that if you have an opportunity to place her as Home Hygiene instructor, you would not make a mistake to do so. Sincerely yours, Mrs. Isabelle W. Baker, R.N., Director, Instruction in Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick IWB..B
