EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF MEETING OF NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON

RED CROSS NURSING SERVICE, December 10, 1929.

Miss Dines presented the following Resolution prepared by
her Committee on the death of Miss Anna C. Maxwell:

"Whereas in the death of Anna c. Maxwell within the
last year the National Committee on Red Cross Nursing
Service has suffered the loss of a valued member, and
Whereas Miss Maxwell had been an active member of this
Committee since its inception, and
Whereas Miss Maxwell - as one of the great pioneers in
service and education - participated enthusias-
nursing tically affecting nursing effectively forward organizers movement of the
and in every
- as one of the
National Nursing associations, as a Spanish American
war nurse, as an organizer of the American Red Cross
Nursing Service, as a promoter of rank for Army Nurses
and in many other ways -
Therefore , Be it Resolved that the National Committee
on Red Cross Nursing Service express its sorrow at the
loss of this notable member and its appreciation of the
contribution which she made to the Red Cross Service.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be
placed in the records of this Committee and a copy be
forwarded to Miss Haxwell's family."
No action taken. The Chairman stated that such a Resolution
did not need formal approval.
