Eeferred to numeding AIR MAIL January 27, 1943 Dr. Thomas White, 50 Glenwood Avenue, Jersey city, New Jersey. My dear Dr. White: On the recommendation of Dr. Amos Christie, Assistant Director, Medical and Health Service, National Headquarters, American Red Cross, we are referring to you for physical examination, Miss Marian Agnes McNamara, a Red Cross nurse who is interested in being considered for service in Hawaii. We are now writing her to get in touch with you for an appoint- ment. As in all emergencies or foreign service assignments, physical stamina and emotional stability of high order are essential. To aid us in the evaluation of these qualities we are enlisting your services for this physical examination. We shall appreciate your cooperation, and will see that you are compensated at the rate of five dollars ($5.00) for the ex- amination. A physical examination report form is herewith enclosed. The physical report, bill and any recommendation for further examinations should be sent to this office, through which they will be referred to our Personnel Service.
