C.\nMy dear Miss Minnigerode:\nI\nwas delighted to receive your note of\nMay 8th. I was greatly relieved, as I was afraid that Miss Carmody\nquite unwittingly I am sure, had created the impression that I did\nnot wish you to remain a member of the committee. This, of course,\nwould be the last thing I would wish to O. In discussing the com-\nmittee with her, and in referring especial y to Mrs. Hickey who never\nattends a meeting, I suggested that possibly as a member of the\nNational Committee she might not be particularly interested in the\nlocal work. water, I added - this might also apply to you. My\nthought WES that neither one of you would probably want to be bothered\nwith a purely local job, as the contribution of both of you to the\nNational Committee has been very great. She told me, however, that\nyou were very much interested in the work, and I then said - \"I hope\nvery much that she will continue.\" Naturally, I was delighted when\n1 heard that you had accepted the Chairmanship of the Committae. I\nhad not realized that you were giving so much time to the local work.\nPom time when you have a moment I should like\nvery much to discuss one or two questions with you in connection with\nthe committee work. One in particular is the relation of the committee\nto the chapter, as their last report shows 6 lack of understanding of\nthe relationship of the committee to the chapter, as well as its\nfunction. Strangely enough, as I was dictating this Mrs. Richards\ntelephoned me about something else, and is coming over to the office,\nso I win talk it over with her. However, I shall also want to see\nyou in regard to it. li hope you are feeling much better, and that\nyou are enjoying your garden as much as I enjoy nine.
