Miss Sophia Palmer,
45 South Union Street,
Rochester, M.Y.
My dear Miss Palmer:-
I have just returned to Washington and find that
Dr. Rabph Fitch, of Rochester, who is on duty in a military
hospital in France, has asked to have some Red Cross nurses
sent over for the hospital in which he is working.
Before considering his request I should like to have
you tell me whether Dr. Fitch is known to you or Miss DeWitt
and whether you consider him a desirable person to place in
charge of a group of Red Cross nurses. Of course, any infor-
mation you may sent to me will be considered confidential but
I am most anxious to know something of Dr. Fitch personally
and professionally before taking the matter up.
Hoping for an early reply as we expect a cablegram
in a day or so in regard to the matter, believe me,
Yours very truly,
Chairman National Committee
D/MK
Red Cross Nursing Service.
