My dear Miss Warman:

Miss Caroly Lucille or Connor, who served
with the nurses recrui ted for the 0. C. D. unit in
Hawaii is now applying for appointment with the Army
Nurse Corps. She indicates that she has done considerable
private duty nursing in your institution since her return.
As her record in Hawaii was not entirely favorable, we are
very anxious to get a rather detailed report of her accom-
plishments since her return.
Unfortunately she did not give us the dates of
her services in your institution but she returned from
Hawaii early in 1943.
We are especially anxious to know about her
general nursing ability and also her personal suitability
for appointment with the Army Nurse Corps, especially as
it relates to her emotional stability, her character and
conduct. Anything you can tell us in regard to her that
may help us to determine her suitability will be greatly
appreciated.
Sincerely yours,
Virginia m. sunbar
Virginia M. Dunbar
Director, Nursing Service
April 4, 1945.
Miss Carolyn L. O'Connor has worked here from another registry but
has only had 8 cases in the hospital, all of very short duration. I
WAR would be unable to give you a reference for her under these conditions
FUND
except to say that I have had no complaints from her patients.
