My dear Miss Barkemeyer:
I have a letter of May 17th from Miss Clara
D. Noyes, Chairman, National Committee Red Cross Nursing
Service, telling me of my appointment to the local Red
Cross Enrollment Committee.
I am sorry that I did not know at the time I
promised you I would be willing to act on the committee
that I would be leaving Kansas City permanently. It is
just within the recent week that I have known of this
change and since I am leaving I would not be able to
serve on the committee.
May I make a suggestion? Miss Etta Lee Gowdy
of Ottawa, Kansas, who is thoroughly familiar with Red
