Miss Harjory Burns Storey
568 Wellington Avenue
Rochester, New York
My dear Miss Storey:
lie have received your letter of June 15 with the consignee*s copy
of the invoice.
You should not have received the hat, but since the order was
put through prior to the time we received word that the Unit may be
taken over by the Army, it is apparent that your hat was shipped before
word was sent to Knox Hat Company to hold up the orders pending a final
decision about the first of July. mill you, therefore, please return
the hat to Knox Hat Company, to be held by them until final decision is
made regarding the Unit.
It is not likely that you will receive the remainder of the
uniforms as it takes longer to complete those orders than the one for
the hats. But, if by chance, you do receive the street uniform or the
indoor uniforms, will you please return them to the coppanies also.
The postage for remailing these articles may be vouchered for on your
expense account.
The conditions, as stated in my letter of June 12, are the same and
we shall contact you as soon as we have definite word regarding the Unit.
Sincerely yours,
Jane Beneist
