EXCERPT FROM MISS TITTMAN'S LERTER, 2-21-22. The amount of $800 is asked after a careful analysis of legitimate expense and after consultation with the authorities of the Public Health Section of Teacher's College. The College gives out the information that $1000 for 8 months is the very lowest figure that one can maintain themselves on. This is approximated as follows: Board and room $500.00 Tuition and college fees .300.00 Railroad, etc 100.00 Texts, Laundry, Uniforms Special dues, Carfare Accessories 100.00 $1000.00 For the additional four months of practice which I am lining up for, one spends Board and room 250.00 Tuition and fees 70.00 Car Fare- - Laundry, etc. Accessories (Uniform Exp. accounted above) 40.00 360.00 Less Salary from V.N.A.- - 160.00 Henry Str . --2 mos, @ $80. 200.00 Total $1200. Tro- thirds of this -- is --$800. Total time 1 year or 12 months. I trust thatthis will be satisfactory. I do not believe that I should be able to remain with a smaller amount of loan.
