Miss Jane A. Delano,
Red Cross Headquarters
Washington, D. C.
My dear Miss Delano:-
I am enclosing a letter which I have just received from
Miss Daisy Urch, Chief nurse of Unit #12. It seems to me that
she is in need of our assistance. I feel terribly sorry for
her as she seems to have no redress whatsoever. If the nurses
only had a proper rank, I do not think this kind of thing would
happen.
I
know you will do everything in your power for her,
for iI feel she needs help immediately.
It was very delightful to have a chat with Miss Noyes.
She has cleared up many difficulties in our minds, and I think
we will be able to work more intelligently from now on in recruiting
nurses for the Red Cross. I do hope we can get a large number of
them. Rest assured I will do all in my power to increase the
enrollment.
With best wishes, I am
Yours very truly,
