My dear Miss Van Zile:
We appreciate very greatly your prompt
offer of assistance for service with the American Red Cross,
in connection with the Japanese Disaster. So far, we have
not been asked for any personnel, but are holding in readi-
ness nurses under the Committees nearest Japan, for example -
China, Philippines, Pacific Coast. We probably will not
need to take nurses from the Eastern Coast.
