COPT. Christiansted, St. Croix, V.I. of U.S. 27 April 1923. t My dear Miss Noyes :- I am writing Mr. Forster this mail that I have decided that it is best for me to go up to Washington and present in person recommendations for the coming year. I shall sail on the Guiana on or about the 10th of May, unless I hear from Mr. Forster to the contrary, that is, if he will be coming for inspection as he had anticipated some time ago. Certain problems confront us that make it necessary to discuss everything in person and I do not feel that there should be any unnecessary delay now. Miss Gillette and I both feel that it is of importance that I go up at this time. n The Guiana is due here about Wednesday of the coming week and will be back from the Windward Islands "on or about the a 10th". of May. " I shallplan to go up on her. I was glad to get your good letter of a couple weeks ago, Miss Noyes and expected to answer in detail ere this. I was busy in St. Thomas trying to push the Junior activities and came back to St. Croix Wednesday, the 25th inst. We are experienceing very hot weather and it makes one feel quite fatigued. Similar affect to the early spring days at home. I shall indeed be glad to see you and Miss Butler and Miss Fox and Miss Holmes and Miss Havey. You all have been so helpful and most kind to me in your letters. They help one carry-on and make life worth while. With very best regards to you all, Most sincerely yours, Ruth C. Waterbury, R.N. Field Representative A.R.C. for Virgin Islands of U.S. In pencil on this letter Miss Butler has written the following;- ( Mr. Forster has just informed me that probably Miss W. will be advided to come prepared_ not to return. Miss G. will be app. acting Field Rep.") ( I.E.B)
