My dear Nurse Williams:
Your application for enrollment in the Red Cross
lursing Service has beon received in this office and we beg to
advise you that according to our present regulations you are-zot
eligible for gereral enrollment. owing to the fact that we are in
the first place unable to a credential fuzmo your training
school signed by the Superintendent of Nurses, wevare informed
that your school has gone out of existence. You also are not a
member of the American Hurses Association through membership in
your alumae association.
However as you are at the present time in service
under the American Red Cross as an Instructor of our classes in
Home Hygiene and Care of the Sick we have been requested to grant
you "Special Enrollment" you will be on the same footing as the
regularly enrolled Red Cross nurses, though it is not possible to
issue you the Red Cross Badge and Appointment Carü. You are however
privileged to wear the uniform and the insignia.
Kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter on the
enclosed postal card.
