METHODIST HOSPITAL 909 South Miller Avenue Mitchell, South Dakota - 57301 Telephone Area Code 605 996-5627 January 20, 1967 he Miss Lillian McKinnon Mid Western ARC 4050 Lindell Blvd. St. Louis, Mo. Dear Miss McKinnon, I have been informed that your committee is considering Mrs. Evelyn Woods of Mitchell for recognition. This I am happy to hear as I am certain no finer choice could be made. The contributions and influence of Evelyn Woods during her many years as a Red Cross Nurse have been great and far reaching. Recognition of her would be well placed. We, at Methodist Hospital, have been especially grateful to her for the interest she has shown in the preparation of our student nurses. As we do not have a public health affiliation, we like to have our students participate in community health projects. Mrs. Woods has made it possible for our girls to participate in immunization clinics, in emergency nursing, and in other situations where they could observe and help the Red Cross Nurse. Our students and graduates have attended Evelyn Wood's "Medical Self-Help" classes, "Home Nursing" classes, and "First Aid" classes. Her interest in the welfare of the community and in the education and preparation of the student for community service is reflected in the attitudes of the new graduates. A very high percentage of our graduates become Red Cross Nurses - Red Cross Nurses who in turn are playing active roles in the health of their communities. Sincerely, Katherine M-Killop M.S.
