    "ocrText": "\"TO The HONORABLE County\nCOURT, now sitting in Hartford, in and\nfor Hartford County, march Term, A.D.183\nThe Petition of infield\nin the County of Harford\nrespectfully sheweth, that he is-a Foreigner, having been born in the County of Cupe\nin Settand\nin the Year A. D. 1805\n,\nthat he is a subject of William the\nFourth, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. That he emigrated to the United\nStates in A. D. 18 31, that before the County\nCourt, held at Hartford, within and for the\nCounty\nof Hartford, on the 2nd Tuesday of Aug A. D. .1832; to wit on the 25 6th day\nof Aug\n1831 2 (said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law, jurisdiction and\na\nClerk and Seal) he declared on oath his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to re-\nnounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatev-\ner, and particularly to said William the Fourth, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and\nIreland, as by certificate, duly authenticated, ready in Court to be shewn appears-that he has resided\nduring the last five years constantly, in the United States, and for the last year in the State of Connecti-\ncut. That he has behaved during said five years as a man of good moral character, attached to the princi-\nples of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the\nsame.\nWhereupon he prays your Honors, to take his case into consideration, and on finding the facts\ntrue, to admit him to be a citizen of the United States, according to the Acts of Congress in such case\nprovided, as he in duty bound shall pray.\nDated at Hartford, the mhoo th, A.
