It also appearing to this Court, that said applicant did, pursting to the laws of the United States, appear before the Court within and for on the day of a. D. 187 the same being Court of Record with common Law Juris- diction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Dath did declare that it was bona fide bis intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce al) allegiance and fidelity forever to every Forelso Prince, Potentate, State and Sover- eignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, as by the Record of said Court appears. And the said appli- cant now here in this Court, declares on oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of America.
