Dear Dr. Harnwell:
Through a letter to my son from Dr. Irwin H. Breslow
of the Graduate Hospital, University of Pennsylvania,
I have learned something of the efforts of the Graduate
x 07116
School of Medicine in behalf of foreign medical students
x04117-C
as a part of the People-tory People program. In particu-
lar, I am interested to learn that you plan to establish
the first foreign medical library with audio facilities in x07111-7
the United States as an aid to students whose limited
command of English might place them at a disadvantage
in the lecture room.
I was delighted to hear of the scope of your overall
program. With the public spirited help of citizens of
the Philadelphia community, it represents a concerted
effort of free individuals, mutually joined, to meet a
challenge of national significance.
Please give my greetings to those who will be assembled
at your meeting on Thursday, March thirty-first.
Sincerely,
DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER
