Note: Several other countries have indicated an interest in participating
including Mexico, Chile and Ecuador. The U.S.S.R. has also
shown some indication that it may participate. Such participation
would be acceptable to the International Committee on the
International Geophysical Year only if Russia agrees to the same
mutual exchange of data as the other cooperating countries.
