Re: contracts covering the cleaning of two furnaces and two oil burners in the summer White House at Hyde Park. Mr. Jos. L. Fimbel, Poughkeepsie. JOSEPH FIMBEL Quinty Dutchess Hill Hyde Park, N.Y. July 30, 1942 Grace G. Tully White House Washington, D.C. Dear Miss Tully: The enclosed contracts cover the cleaning of two furnaces and two oil burners in the summer White House at Hyde Park. They also include periodic inspection and prompt attention to all emergency calls during the heating season. The above mentioned service is a flat-rate contract and is sent out by Mr. Fimbel prior to each heating season. It is optional with us to take this flat- rate service contract or have each individual item taken care of by a separate call. One contract is for the heating season only, the other contract is for heating for full year operation. I trust this is the information you desire. Yours truly christian Bie Christian Bie JOSEPH L. President F.D. Roosevelt TELEPHONE ⑉ Hyde Park, n.y. mr. President: Years ago Benjamin Franklin said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Today all the world seems to realize the truth of this axiom. The QUIET MAY AUTOMATIC OIL BURNER which you have had installed is capable of providing you with the very best satis- faction that automatic heat affords. To have your QUIET MAY function at maximum efficiency and without interruption, we suggest periodic inspections and recommend our "Flat Rate" ser- vice. Every fine piece of mechanism is deserving of care in order to insure longevity and satisfaction. Attached you will find a "Flat Rate" service blank which will insure your QUIET MAY indefinitely if accepted each year continuously. To those who do not subscribe to "Flat Rate" ser- vice there is available a charge service by the hour, which is rendered as called for by the owner. This service, however, does not include the pre-season clean-up as does the "Flat Rate" service. If you will simply sign and return to us the enclosed blank, accompanied by your check, your first inspection and adjustment will be made immediately. Very truly yours, Joseph JOSEPH L.Fimbel L.
