MEMORANDUM
THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON
November 30, 1974
TO:
PHIL BUCHEN
FROM:
JOHN O. MARSH, JRAN
I have talked with Governor Arch Moore of West Virginia in
reference to the federal judgeship. He has backed off of the
original name submitted. This was the person who had
served as a member of his staff.
Although he did not disclose the name, he advises me that
he has selected a very outstanding and well-known trial lawyer
with a good reputation whose name he will submit to Justice
next Thursday or Friday.
He believes this name will be acceptable to both Senators from
West Virginia.
