position in front of the window in the Blue
Room where you will receive your guests.
Mrs. Spalding and Mrs. Ness will be
first through the receiving line.
Your guests will proceed into the State
Dining Room where refreshments will
be served.
2:30 p. m.
After the receiving line concludes, you may
wish to join your guests for refreshments
and mingle informally with them in the
State Dining Room or you may wish to
return to the Family Quarters.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Association of American Colleges is in Washington, D. C. for its
61st Annual Meeting which began on January 12, 1975 and concludes on
January 14, 1975.
The Association of American Colleges is the national organization of
undergraduate colleges of liberal arts and sciences. Its spokemen represent
the views of some 800 members on national policy affecting undergraduate
education. AAC Commissions seek to stimulate and communicate ideas which
promise to improve the quality of undergraduate education.

Association of American Colleges this afternoon at 2 p.m.
She will greet them in the Blue Room of the White House.
The Association is in Washington, D.C. Jan. 12-14 for
its annual meeting.

HAPPILY, TOLD REPORTERS TUESDAY SHE IS FEELING "STRONGER ALL THE
TIME.
SHE PASSED HER FIRST MAJOR CHECKUP MONDAY FOLLOWING HER BREAST
CANCER SURGERY, AND FELT MUCH BETTER ABOUT THINGS, SHE SAID.
"AFTER AN OPERATION, YOU FEEL A LITTLE WEAK," SHE SAID, SMILING
HAPPILY. "BUT NOW WITH THE RESULTS OF THE CHECKUP I FEEL A LOI
STRONGER."
THE FIRST LADY, WEARING A SOFT BEIGE AFTERNOON DRESS WITH A
TURQUOISE SILK SCARF, CHATTED ABOUT A NUMBER OF THINGS AT A RECEPTION
FOR ABOUT 100 WIVES OF MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN
COLLEGES.
SHE SAID THAT BECAUSE OF HER IMPROVED HEALTH, SHE WILL DO MORE
TRAVELING IN THE FUTURE, AND ADDED THAT SHE WAS "VERY PLEASED" ABOUT
HER HUSBAND'S NATIONALLY TELEVISED ADDRESS ON THE ECONOMY AND ENERGY
