1) After school at 4:00 on Wednesday, April 23, Susan
Ford will greet Valerie Giscard d'Estaing briefly for a
White House tour. The Embassy is taking care of inviting
Valerie. Would you please handle this with Susan and I
am sure you will want to communicate with Mike Farrell.
2) As you know, Mrs. Ford will have tea with Mrs.
Giscard d'Estaing at the time of her visit to Washington
on Thursday, May 15. The time of 2:30 is currently being
explored in order that Mrs. Ford would have time afterwards
to rest for the State Dinner.
Let me know if there is anything further I can do.

5:00 p.m.
Miss Giscard d'Estaing will arrive through the
Southwest Gate. Susan will greet her in front of
the entrance to the Diplomatic Reception Room.
NOTE: There will be press photo coverage of
the arrival.
Susan will escort Miss Giscard d'Estaing to the
Rose Garden via driveway. They will be seated
at a table located at the east end of the Rose
Garden. (Press photo opportunity)
Susan will walk through the Rose Garden with
Miss Giscard d'Estaing and escort her into the
Oval Office.
NOTE: There will be press photo coverage in
the Rose Garden.
5:15 p. m.-
After Susan has shown the Oval Office to Miss
Giscard d'Estaing, they will wall: via Rose
Garden through the Diplomatic Reception Room
to the elevator.
You will be waiting on the Second Floor to
greet Miss Giscard d'Estaing.
You and Súsan will have tea with Miss Giscard
d'Estaing in the West Hall.

After the tea, you and Susan may wish to give
Valerie Giscard d'Estaing a tour of the Family
Quarters.
You will bid farewell and Susan may wish to
escort Miss Giscard d'Estaing on a tour of the
White House or escort her to the Diplomatic
Reception Room and bid farewell.
NOTES:
Mr. Gabriel de Bellescize (Ga bre 11 de Bell sees),
Counselor at the French Embassy, will escort
Valerie Giscard d'Estaing to the White House
and will stand by for her return to the French
Embassy.
A White House photographer will be present.
In case of inclement weather, Susan will
greet Miss Giscard d'Estaing and escort her
via elevator to the Second Floor.
