CALLS MADE FRIDAY, MAY 14
Mrs. Harold Phelps. They are already working hard phoning their
friends, etc. They will certainly continue to do all they can.
Mr. Neil Weathers. They are all concerned about what has been
happening lately. You have four votes in their household, and
they will tell all their neighbors they have to vote on Tuesday.
They hope to catch a glimpse of you and Mrs. Ford in church
on Sunday. They are members of the same church.
Harold Wilmarth. John Baxter already had contacted him about being
sure to get the "chain of ten" moving. He and his wife have been
hard at work and they will definitely continue. He very much
appreciated my call. (Note: No one here called Mr. Baxter--that
means that someone else contacted him and he is now working on
his own list!)
Mrs. Carl Gill (he is with the 40 & 8 club) They definitely will
be glad to help. He has already talked to several of their
friends, and they will certainly continue.
Mrs. Rudel Miller (he is with the Michigan Sport Sages) . They will
be out of town on Tuesday so I told them how to go about
etting
their absentee ballots. She said they would try. She said they
would also talk to their friends to urge them to vote.
James Trimpe. He will certainly be glad to talk to some of their
friends to urge them to vote. He was glad I called. (From 30-30
Club)
Mrs. Burgess Wisner. Their whole family is out working. They
are checking with older people to be sure they have their absentee
ballots, their son and daughter are busy at work at their
respective schools. She is out contacting friends, and he is
talking to all the people at his plant. Very encouraging report.
John Heinzelman. They already have been working on it. He is doing
some "one man campaigning" on his own and is contacting all his
friends. They are rounding up all the members of the 30-30 Club
so they can meet you at the plane tomorrow. He emphasized that
he will do everything possible to help you.
Sue Hanson (Harold Heller's secretary) He was out of town on
business, but Sue said she will pass along my message. She also
said that she would contact her friends to be sure they get out
to vote.
James Klynstra, Jr. (Kent Optimist Club) He will be more than
FORD
to help.
