Dear Mr. Maduro:
This letter extends to you an invitation to speak at the
United States Military Academy on September 28, 1976
during our commemoration of Hispanic Heritage Week. If
your schedule permits, I would like to meet with you in
my office at 11:00 a.m., September 28, 1976, followed by
a tour of West Point.
Our plan for your visit includes two talks to the West Point
community on Equal Employment Opportunity and Cultural
Awareness. The first talk, in the afternoon, will be to the
assigned military and civilian personnel of West Point and
the second, in the evening, to the men and women of the
Class of 1980, Corps of Cadets. I am confident that your
background and experience in the contemporary problems of
assimilation of Hispanic Americans into American society
will contribute significantly to our program. A presentation
of approximately forty minutes with fifteen minutes for
questions and answers is suggested.
Captain Emmanuel V. De Vera, Equal Opportunity Awareness
Branch, is the project officer for your visit. He will
complete the details of your itinerary. If any questions
arise, he can be reached at area code 914-938-2621/4811.
