Ford Presidential Library SEPTEMBER 14, 1974 Office of the White House Press Secretary NOTICE TO THE PRESS Press Pool information for the attendance of the President and the First Lady at the performance of the Morman Tabernacle Choir, Concert Hall, Kennedy Center, Saturday, September 14, 1974, 8:25 p.m. Motorcade departs South Portico 8:30 p.m. Motorcade arrives Kennedy Center at Hall of Nations entrance. Pool proceeds through entrance hall, up staircase, and down left aisle of Concert Hall to witness appearance of President and First Lady in Presidential Box. Writing press takes seats in Hall then. Photographers proceed up two flights of stairs to Press Room. 9:10 p.m. Intermission. President and First Lady will attend a brief reception in the Israeli Lounge of the Concert Hall, with Mr. and Mrs. J. Willard Marriott hosting. Press coverage will be limited to a photo session for the first five minutes of the reception. (Writing press returns to seats, photographers to Press Lounge.) 9:30 p.m. President and First Lady return to box as performance resumes. 10:10 p.m. Performance concludes. Press Pool should be assembled near the Israeli Lounge at the conclusion of the performance. The President and First Lady will depart from the Concert Hall through the hallway adjoining the Lounge, proceeding down the stairs, and possibly stopping backstage to meet some of the Choir members, then proceeding to the Hall of Nations and to the motorcade. 10:15 p.m. Arrive South Lawn. ###
