Ford Presidential Library FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FEBRUARY7, 1975 Office of the White House Press Secretary THE WHITE HOUSE The President today announced his intention to nominate Yan Michael Ross, of Bethesda, Maryland, to be Alternate Executive Director of the Inter- American Development Bank. He will succeed Kenneth Guenther who resigne effective August 7, 1974. Since May of 1970, Mr. Ross has served as Minority Counsel to the Committee on Banking and Currency in the House of Representatives. From February 1968 to May of 1970, he served in the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant. From July of 1967 to February of 1968 he was an Administrative Officer Trainee for the Central Intelligence Agency. Mr. Ross was born on December 2, 1942 in New York City, New York. He received his A.B. degree from Princeton University in 1964 and his LL.B. degree from Yale Law School in 1967. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the United States Supreme Court Bar. Mr. Ross is married to the former Kathleen Brown and they have one child. They reside in Bethesda, Maryland. # # #
