NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced the appointment of two persons as
members of the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin.
They are:
Daniel J. Snyder, III, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
Regional Administrator and Chairman, Federal Regional
Council, Environmental Protection Agency, Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania. He succeeds Lawrence M. Fisher who
has resigned.
Loretta Nimmerrichter, of Waldorf, Maryland, former
member of the Maryland House of Delegates, Waldorf,
Maryland. She succeeds Eugene Jensen who has
resigned.
The Chairman is appointed by the Commission.
The Commission was established in 1940 and addressed itself to
pollution control in the Potomac River Basin. Its responsibilities
include assisting public and nonpublic organizations; forming and
coordinating plans, for pollution control; and the conservation and
development of water and land resources.
