Ford Presidential Library FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE NOVEMBER 16, 1975 Office of the White House Press Secretary (Paris, France) THE WHITE HOUSE STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY The Finance Ministers of the six nations met from 9:30 am to 10:45 am to centinue yesterday's discussion on economic recovery, and to prepare for today's discussions of trade and monetary affairs. The Finance Ministers also began development of a joint statement to be issued at the conclusion of the meetings. The Finance Ministers assigned a working group to continue development of the joint statement and the working group did meet. The Heads of State and Heads of Government met from 10:45 am to 1:30 pm discussing the subjects of monetary affairs and trade. American officials described the meeting as "extraordinarily fruitful" and said, "Good progress was made.' The Finance Ministers will meet again at 3:30 pm to follow up on the trade and monetary discussion for the purpose of giving further direction to the working group on the joint statement. The Heads of State and Heads of Government will resume their discussions at 3:30 pm, following lunch, with these items on the agenda: energy, developing countries, and East-West economic arrangements. # # #
