Ford Presidential Library FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JUNE 29, 1976 Office of the White House Press Secretary THE WHITE HOUSE The President today announced his intention to nominate Delio E. Gianturco, of Falls Church, Virginia, to be Vice President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States. He will succeed Walter C. Sauer who resigned effective upon the appointment of a successor. Mr. Gianturco has been the Executive Vice President of the Bank since February, 1976. Born on September 28, 1940, in Washington, D. C., Mr. Gianturco received his B.S. degree from Georgetown University in 1963. He received his M.A. in 1967 from George Washington University. Prior to joining the Export-Import Bank, Mr. Gianturco served as Legislative Assistant to Congressman Robert Sikes of Florida during 1962-1963. He became a Loan Assistant for the Bank in 1963 and served successively as a Loan Spe- cialist, Financial Economist, Financial Specialist, Deputy Vice President for Project Development, and Deputy Senior Vice President for Exporter Credits, Guarantees, and Insurance. He was elected Senior Vice President of Exporter Credits, Guarantees, and Insurance in August, 1971. Mr. Gianturco is married to the former Mary Elizabeth Jordan and they have three children. # # #
