NOTICE TO THE PRESS
The President today announced his intention to nominate three persons
to be Directors of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation. They
are:
For a term expiring December 31, 1977
F. Barton Harvey, Jr., of Maryland, succeeds Henry
W. Meers whose term has expired.
For a term expiring December 31, 1978
J. W. Van Gorkom, of Illinois, is a reappointment.
H.C. Piper, of Minnesota, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, Piper, Jaffray, and Hopwood, Minneapolis,
Minnesota, succeeds Glenn E. Anderson whose term has
expired.
Mr. Harvey and Mr. Van Gorkom were submitted to the Senate and was
not considered prior to adjournment.
