Han Hsu: We are grateful for receiving us at short notice. We received
a message only just now with instructions to deliver it immediately.
[He hands Gen. Scowcroft a note, which Gen. Scowcroft reads. ]
Scowcroft: We will have to let you know.
Han Hsu: About the visit date or an announcement date?

Scowcroft: About the visit date -- the announcement date will depend on the
decision on the date for the visit.
Han Hsu: That is all I have.

Scowcroft: I have a statement to make. In light of your note yesterday, a
meeting of Prince Sihanouk with other senior Americans who might be visiting
your country would not be understood.
Han Hsu: I am not sure what you mean. Do you refer to Senator Mansfield?

Scowcroft: He is the senior American.
Han Hsu: But he will come August 19, after Dr. Kissinger. But I will pass
this to my government.
