President: I appreciate your taking on this assignment.
Seelye: It is a challenging job.
President: I was looking at some of the weekend summaries. CBS did
a good job yesterday - piecing together cuts of the task force, the landing
boat, and so on. You are practically going back home.
Seelye: I was born there. [Described his personal situation. ]
President: I wish we could terminate this right away but it doesn't look
this way.
Seelye: I think it will go on this way for a long time.
