Upon return home from our journey to the United States, the Empress
and I would like to express our most profound gratitude to Your Excellency and
Mrs. Ford for your warm hospitality.
We are much obliged to you and Mrs. Ford for the most enjoyable and
memorable time we had in Washington as well as in other places in the United
States.
We shall long cherish the memories of the pleasant episodes of our
trip and of the welcome and cordiality extended to us by Your Excellency,
Mrs. Ford and the Government and people of the United States throughout our
visit.
I am convinced that our visit has contributed to further promotion of
the mutual understanding and friendship which exist between our two countries.
I take this opportunity to express my best wishes for continued health
and happiness of Your Excellency and Mrs. Ford, and further prosperity of
