WHITE HOUSE,
WASHINGTON.
May 17, 1904.
My dear Mr. Secretary :
Referring to the enclosed telegram, the
President wishes you would advise him what has
been decided as to the Indian Agency in question.
The President says if you are going to give it
to a retired army officer, all right; but if not,
he is perfectly sure of Frank Frantz's honesty.
Very truly yours,
correlly
Secretary to the President.
Hon. E. A. Hitchcock,
Secretary of the Interior.
