My dear Mr. Secretary:
I enclose herewith a letter from Hon. Alexander 0.
Brodie, Governor of Arizona, enclosing the application of
Sidney R. De Long for appointment as Receiver of Public
Moneys, Tucson Land Office, with a petition in behalf of
the appointment signed by members of the Arizona Pioneers.
Unless there is objection on the part of the Depart-
ment, the President directs that the appointment be made.
