BOOKER T. WASHINGTON, Principal.
WARREN LOGAN, Treasurer.
TUSKEGEE NORMAL AND INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE.
Grand Union Hotel, New York, March 15, 1902.
Tuskegee, Ala.
My dear Mr. Leupp:-
When I was last in Washington the President told me that it
was possible that he would not reappoint Mr. Bush who is a colored
man who is at present receiver of public money at Little Rock, or
register, I forget which, and he asked me to give him the names of
some reliable colored men in Arkansas. With some difficulty I
have secured the names of some good men, they are as follows :
Mr. Alexander L. Burnett, lawyer, Pine Bluff, Ark.,
Mr. Moses G. Turner, Helena, Ark., merchant and planter,
Geo. W. Ingram, Little Rock, Ark., carpenter and contractor.
Will you be kind enough to hand these names to the President?
Yours truly,
BOOKER I. WASHINGTON
