ordinate in his office without his intention or
knowledge, but that upon the facts as set forth
in the Attorney General's letter concerning his use
of his official position to further his private in-
terests it would seem that his usefulness in his
present place is at an end.
Please request from Mr. Stoddard immodiate
answer setting forth anything in the way of expla-
nation or refutation of what has been alleged.
