THE HARRY S. TRUMAN LIBRARY, INC. 125 EAST THIRTY-FIRST STREET KANSAS CITY 8, MISSOURI June 14th, 1955. Honorable Harry S. Truman, Federal Reserve Bank Blvd. Kansas City 6, Missouri. Dear Mr. President: While the Greater Kansas City Trustees of the Harry S. Truman Library, Inc., have thanked you and Mrs. Truman personally for allowing us to have a cocktail party at your home for the out-of- - town guests who attended the ground breaking ceremonies of the Library, there still remains a little matter of business to be completed: There is enclosed herewith a check for $250.00 to reimburse you and Mrs. Truman for out-of-pocket expenses for food, beverages, and help that was necessary to handle the number of out-of-town guests. While we do not have an exact listing of the expenditures made, and doubt very much that this covers your actual expenses, I hope it will close the books. It goes without saying that in our opinion the party was most helpful in promoting fund raising for the Library as well as bringing to the attention of all the visotors the value of the Library not only to this community but the whole country. Sincerely (yours Mere HARA JMcG:JF - Trustee -
