MEMORANDUM OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATION
Participants: Senator McFarland
Secretary Acheson
Senator McFarland called today to discuss several matters
with the Secretary. The Senator urged that action on the
Imperial Dam be completed before the Secretary departed for
Paris. The Secretary told him that he thought this was possible.
He said that he had prepared a draft letter to Senator Connally,
copies of which would be sent to both Senator McFarland and
Senator Hayden.
The Secretary said further that he had discussed the matter
with Acting Secretary of the Interior Chapman and had asked for
comments on the draft letter. The Secretary indicated that he
expected Mr. Chapman's comments today.
